Dear World:For the love of God, stop claiming that the Jonas Brothers are the new Beatles. It should be obvious that such a statement is wrong on many,
many levels and to write out why it's so wrong would take up more room than what a single livejournal entry would allow.
The Beatles are not something that happens every generation. Millions of screaming girls doesn't equal Beatlemania. Nor does it equal any actual talent or creative ambition.
I ask anyone who believes such nonsense to get back to me in ten years and then we'll see if they had any impact on music and culture, or if they were just Disney's flavour of the week.
Signed with love and concern,
Anna.
Oh, and to anyone who has seen them, which is a better movie: Blood Diamond or Big Fish?PS. Paul McCartney has the loveliest voice, y/y? Oh god, this song ♥
PPS. It's not that I have a problem with people liking the Jonas Brothers more than the Beatles, or just in general, or people thinking that Beatles are over-rated or whatnot. It's all nice and subjective opinion of course, but there's no denying that saying that the Jonas Brothers are as big of a deal as the Beatles when so far they've done very little is incredibly silly.
